Buy Garden Hoes – robust hand tools for gardening, permaculture, and nature care

Garden hoes are among the most important hand tools for soil cultivation. Whether for your beds, for removing weeds, for loosening hard soil, or for working near water – with a high-quality garden hoe, digging hoe, or pickaxe from our scythe works assortment, you can perfectly accomplish all tasks in your garden.

How you can use our garden hoes

In this category, you will find selected hoes from Bellota for various applications:

Weeding and removing the grass sod in the garden or vegetable patch
Loosening and aerating beds and compacted soil
Digging trenches, planting holes, and deeper soil structures
Removing peat layers, tough root felt, and grass sod
Working on extremely hard or stony soil
Cutting rhizomes and roots in ponds, ditches, and watercourses

Which hoe suits your soil?

To ensure you select the right hoe for your project, you can generally orient yourself by your soil type and intended use:

Garden hoes for beds, lawns, and finer weeding

For classic gardening tasks around vegetable beds, flower borders, and lawns, lighter garden hoes are suitable, with which you primarily work in the upper soil layer:

  • Flat garden hoe for weeding and removing the grass sod – ideal for preparing beds, removing weeds or breaking up old lawns.
  • Garden hoe with broad blade and two prongs – combines precise weeding along edges, walls, or raised beds with thorough soil loosening.

These models are perfect for hobby gardeners, self-sufficient growers, and anyone who regularly works in utility or ornamental gardens.

Digging hoes for deeper soil cultivation and trenching

If you wish to penetrate deeper into the soil, for example for planting trenches, new installations, or work on paths and borders, a digging hoe is recommended:

  • Hoe for soil cultivation and trenching – with a narrow cutting edge and a right-angled head for deep penetration into the soil, even with compacted earth.
  • Hoe with a rounded cutting edge – ideal for creating seed furrows and tasks where clear furrows and
    well-structured soil are required.

Heavy hoes for hard, stony soil and root systems

For truly tough applications – compacted, stony soils, root systems, or stubborn grass and peat layers – you will find robust, heavier tools:

  • Hoe for peat peeling / peat removal – specifically for tough grass soil, peat, and root systems, ideal for moorland, wet, or problem areas.
  • Heavy-duty pickaxe – for rough earthworks and breaking up heavy soils when normal hoes reach their limits.
  • Pickaxe for hard and stony soil – when stones, compacted subsoil, or strong roots are in the way.
  • Garden hoe with two prongs – for intensive loosening of hard soil or for breaking up solidified sediment layers, for example, on stream and river banks.

Special tool for watercourses and riparian areas

With the root cutter or rhizome cutter, you perform targeted cuts on rhizomes and roots underwater – for example, on reeds, cattails, or water lilies. This allows you to maintain ponds, watercourses, and riparian zones while largely avoiding heavy machinery.

Ergonomics, handle lengths, and Spare parts

Almost all hoes are available with ergonomic wooden handles in various lengths (100 cm, 120 cm, or 140 cm). This allows you to adapt the tool to your height and working method and work permanently in a back-friendly posture. If a handle is damaged, you do not have to replace the entire tool – with the appropriate replacement handle for hoes, your tool will remain in use for many years.

Quality for sustainable garden and landscape care

Our hoes come from the traditional manufacturer Bellota and are made of high-quality forged steel. They are designed for long life, high resilience, and good sharpenability. In combination with scythes, rakes, and other hand tools, a good hoe helps you to maintain your garden, meadows, or permaculture areas sustainably and in harmony with nature. If you are unsure which hoe suits your soil and your project, you can contact us at any time – we will help you with the selection.
