Picard Flat Peening Anvil
The flat peening anvil from German manufacturer Picard is used for peening scythe blades. The anvil is used together with the narrow side of the hammer (peen) of a peening hammer. When peening on a flat anvil, the scythe blade is guided over the anvil with the tang pointing upward.
The peen of the peening hammer shapes the cutting edge – the peened edge. The Picard flat peening anvil weighs 500 g, is drop forged, and features a stake for driving into a wooden block.
