Puck sharpening stone for axes and hatchets – silicon carbide coarse/fine (120/320)
Detailed Product description:
Puck sharpening stone for axes and hatchets – silicon carbide coarse/fine (120/320) by Sensenwerk
This puck sharpeningstone is a practical combination stone for sharpening axes, hatchets, and other coarse cutting tools—both in the field and in the workshop.
It combines two grits in one stone: a coarse side with FEPA 120 grit for restoring dull or slightly damaged cutting edges, and a finer side with FEPA 320 grit for touch-up sharpening and maintaining the cutting edge.
The puck is made of synthetic silicon carbide with a high abrasive grain content. The material ensures fast material removal on the coarse side and a clean, fine finish on the fine side.
Thanks to its round shape, the stone sits well in the hand and can be guided safely along the cutting edge.
In addition to axes and hatchets, the puck grinding stone is also suitable for other robust tools such as machetes, spades, shovels, and garden tools with a ground cutting edge.
Ø76 x 25 mm, with chamfered edges 5 mm.
The two grit layers have different thicknesses: Fine side CG320: 15 mm, coarse side CD120: 10 mm
Use:
The grinding stone can be used dry, with water, or with oil. Wet use with water is recommended (but when on the go, the stone can of course also be used dry):
- Soak the stone in water for a few minutes before grinding,
- When grinding, work with deliberate strokes along the cutting edge (sharpening against the edge is more effective),
- Work both sides of the cutting edge evenly.
Use the coarse side (120 grit) to prepare dull or slightly chipped cutting edges and bring them back into shape.
With the fine side (320 grit), you then create an even, sharp cutting edge and keep it well touch-up sharpened during ongoing use.
Let the stone dry after use and store it in a dry place.
