Scythe Set Schröckenfux Scandinavian Scythe – for fine to medium vegetation on slightly stony, level terrain
This scythe set is designed for lawns and meadows with fine to medium grasses – especially on rather level terrain, even if the ground is slightly stony.
The Schröckenfux Scandinavian Scythe is narrow and has a traditional northern Scandinavian shape. Due to its nearly flat-lying design and slight curvature (viewed from above), it is well suited for flat meadow and lawn areas.
The narrow shape allows you to get close to obstacles like trees, house walls, paths, or parking areas and trim cleanly – closer than with wider scythe blades.
What’s included in the set
- Schröckenfux Scandinavian Scythe, 59 cm (narrow blade for fine to medium grasses)
- Schröckenfux – Austrian snath made of high-quality ash wood
- Zische whetstone coarse (corundum, grit 150, 23 cm)
- Zische whetstone fine Silicar Rotmarke (grit 400, 26 cm)
- Schröckenfux whetstone holder made of plastic with metal attachment (whetstone holder)
Why two whetstones?
The coarse stone (150) is for more material removal – for example, when the cutting edge has small chips or you need to remove material quickly.
The fine stone (400) is for sharpening during mowing, when you want to refresh a thinly peened cutting edge as gently as possible.

Do you need matching peening tools for your set?
A scythe only mows easily when the cutting edge is really sharp – for beginners we recommend our hammer peening set with a Picard hammer and for more experienced users our Schröckenfux set (peening anvil with support table + peening hammer).
