Zische whetstone fine – Silicar Rotmarke | grit 400 | extra long (26 cm)

The scythe whetstone Silicar® Rotmarke from Zische with grit 400 is an extra long, fine synthetic whetstone for finely peened scythe blades. It is particularly well-suited for resharpening an already very thinly peened cutting edge. Many users appreciate this finely tuned stone because the delicate peen can be refreshed very cleanly during mowing, without unnecessarily removing material or damaging the peen.

The abrasive grain used, dark silicon carbide, and the hard bond designed for fine grinding ensure high sharpening performance with minimal wear. This allows the Silicar Rotmarke to work the cutting edge effectively yet very gently. All edges are rounded throughout, ensuring comfortable and precise handling.

For over 100 years, the Silicar scythe whetstone has been produced by the German manufacturer Zische – the historical advertising slogan is still known today: “Truly, the mower with the Silicar finds purest joy!”

The Silicar Rotmarke measures 26 cm in length and weighs 200 g.

Application

The whetstone can generally be used wet or dry. Wet application is recommended:

• Water prevents clogging of the pores,

• improves grinding performance, and

• increases the lifespan of the stone.

For this, the stone is guided in the whetstone cup with water and kept well moistened during honing.
